Limbury Baptist Church
Loneliness, especially among the elderly, is a real problem in Luton. Loneliness is often worse in the summer months, as family go on holiday, clubs and societies close and regular carers are replaced by temporary staff.
Throughout August, Limbury Baptist Church is running Holiday at Home, a weekly programme of activities for those aged 60 and over. Holiday at Home runs every Tuesday from 10am to 4pm (lunch included) and features talks, craft, quizzes, family history worshops, flower arranging, woodwork, a trip out and gentle exercise. Above all, it is about company, fellowship and friendship. Each session costs £8, and people can book in for some or all of the sessions.
If you know someone who could benefit from some company in the Summer, please let them know about Holiday at Home, and ask them to contact David on 528077 or Jane on 574502 or Beryl on 654142 .
A flier which gives more details is attached.
