Please give generously to the Luton Foodbank Midsummer Food Collection

Covid19, panic buying and lockdown have for the past three months  totally disrupted Luton Foodbank’s means of collecting food from you, the wonderfully generous Luton community.  At the same time the need for emergency food has nearly doubled.  Over the Midsummer weekend Churches in Luton are organising a food collection at outdoor locations around Luton, and welcome all to come and donate food.  Everyone is invited to come to one of the following locations where we will happily collect your food.  It will go straight to the Luton Foodbank warehouse, and on to provide meals in crisis for those whose need are desperate.

You will be warmly received at outside food collection points, all arranged to comply with social distance rules, and staffed by protected volunteers.

The Foodbank particularly needs tinned fruit, tinned pasta in sauce, UHT milk(1  litre, full fat or semi skimmed), long life fruit juice, tined rice pudding, These are also very useful:  baked beans 400g tin) pasta ‘n’ sauce, sugar (granulated, any size)    We have recently had large donations of dried pasta and cereal so do not need those!)

Please bring food in bags if possible so as to keep contact to a minimum
