Interested in volunteering to teach English?

Our friends and colleagues Revd David Kesterton and Revd Jo Burke (Church of England Vicars based at All Saints with St Peters Parishes in Beech Hill and Dallow areas of Luton) have been slowly trying to work out needs of about 120 asylum seeking individuals and families housed in 2 Hotels in Luton on Dunstable Road.
Some of them (‘adults only’) are very keen to learn English. They are mainly Iranian, Iraqi, Syrian and Afghani (with a mix of religions).
David and Jo have been discussing how to find people who would be willing to volunteer and help teach English. These classes will need to be held in person for which suitable social distancing measures will need to be put in place. Venue, date/time of classes will be confirmed later and where possible it could be arranged keeping your availability in mind.
If you are interested in volunteering OR if you know someone who might be interested in volunteering to teach English, please will you contact directly Revd Jo Burke on 07957 385691 or by email at
