“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances.” (1 Thess 5:16 – 18)
Nehemiah 3 gives us a snapshot of how the wall around Jerusalem was built – different sections were built by different families and groups.
This gives us such a lovely picture about building the Kingdom of God in Luton. Each church fellowship, each ministry is responsible for one bit of the bigger whole.
In these days, when so much is shaking, we are invited to build things that speak of Jesus’ kingdom, which can not be shaken.
None of us can do it on our own. And we each have a bit to do.
Let’s cheer one another on as we build our bit, as we build with imperishable elements and as we build in ways that carry the hallmarks of His kingdom.
Prayer is our weapon
In the story of Nehemiah, the people had to build as well as be ready to ward off the enemy. Paul reminds us that our enemy is not people, but principalities and powers in the unseen realm.(Eph 6)
Prayer is our weapon.
SO let’s continue to pray for Luton together.
