St Mary’s Church, Luton are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Administrator(SA) for 25 hours a week to be worked over 4-5 days at a rate of £23,000 – £25,000 pro rata. The SA will be responsible for:
- providing high quality administration on behalf of the staff team and the wider church;
- handling the day to day organisational and statutory requirements of the church in such a way that the church functions safely, legally and efficiently and according to its Christian ethos;
- providing a friendly point of contact for enquiries to the church, whether in person, by phone or by email;
- seekingto enable a positive atmosphere throughout church life and the church’s organisation (in conjunction with the Vicar and staff team).
The SA will reportto the Vicar.They will be responsible for line managing members of the office staff team and a small team of volunteerswho support the work of the church office. They must be able to work as part of a team and on their own initiative.
The SA will also work closely with the wider staff and clergy team, the Church Wardens, the Treasurer and, as necessary, contractors. This will include regular staff meetings and very occasional attendance at evening committee meetings.
The right candidate should have studied to A level with GCSE in English and Maths (or equivalent) and have leave to work in the UK. The role will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
