18th January 2021
While 2020 was no doubt a difficult year, we now look forward to 2021 with renewed hope. Churches Together in Luton committee has continued to meet, via Zoom, and we have been working to renew our ‘Purposes and Objectives’ and our constitution. We will be asking members to review these documents and vote on them during our AGM – more details to follow soon. We also have initiated a series of meetings between African, Afro Caribbean and White church leaders in a spirit of truth and reconciliation which has been very encouraging. We are looking at how we can best work together with the emphasis on action and not just more meetings. Churches Together in England have suggested this might be used as a model for working elsewhere.
We would invite you to renew your membership with us for 2021. If you did not renew last year we hope you will be encouraged by what we are doing and support us again this year as we seek to make a Christian presence felt in Luton.
Michael Singleton has been an excellent Chairman this year, as has Lawrence Fagbayi as Vice-Chair and I am pleased both are willing to stand for another year.
New members are always welcome, so if you or anyone in your church is interested in joining the committee, please let us know before the AGM which will be on 17th April by Zoom (more details and poster to follow). Please email me on firstname.lastname@example.org So for another year, we wish God’s blessings to you and your work.
