Building relationships and working together with our local MPs

| 0

On Friday 25 June representatives from the Church in Luton meet with Sarah Owen MP for Luton North as part of the National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast. We had breakfast together and joined with others from around the nation as part of a virtual congregation of a service which included hymns, prayers and a talk from Tom Wright.

We then talked with Sarah about how we can work together for the good of Luton and how we as churches could prayer for her. Her request was that we prayed that she would continue to be grounded as the pressure of the Westminster bubble is immense. She made this request prior to the news breaking of Matt Hancock’s affair that has caused two families to be devastated.

Can I therefore ask you to commit to pray for Sarah and her family as well as for Rachel Hopkins, our Luton South MP, who was unable to attend. Could you also pray for ongoing wisdom as we seek to develop the relationship between the churches and our MP’s.

Many thanks,

Tony Thompson
