Song for the Commonwealth.

On 2nd June 2022 choirs throughout the four nations of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth are being invited to join together in local collaboration and sing the newly written Song for Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at 9.45 pm as beacons are lit in celebration of this extraordinary moment.

The song has now been released (“A life lived with grace” by Vincent Atueyi from Nigeria (music) and lyrics by Lucy Kiely from Australia) and the Guide to this event can be accessed on our website here:

Church and cathedral choirs can download the musical score, parts and the lyrics, and it is hoped that many will participate in this joyous event. Now is the time to schedule your choir for this, and to contact other choirs in your locality to see if joint choirs can be organised in every locality.

And I encourage you to make this known to churches, congregations and parishes throughout England, and everywhere “in quires and places where they sing”.

With best wishes,
