Having now provided confidential mentoring support to more than 20 sex buyers, Flint is looking to expand. The large majority men supported by Flint have either seen a significant reduction in their sex buying or stopped completely. Having proven the concept that there are men brave enough and willing enough to seek help to overcome their temptations, we want to reach as many as possible, supporting them to combat shame.
As we look towards 2025, we hope for more men and women from our church communities to stand up to this issue. An issue that affects 1 in 10 UK Christian men, and one that fuels the demand for sex trafficking.
Starting in February, we are running a 3-week online training course for potential new Flint volunteers. Voluntary roles available include working directly with men as a ‘Mentor’, as well as being a community representative as a Flint ‘First Aider’.
