Please see the following from Liz Hughes at the Airport
For those who have not been involved before, we are once again inviting local choirs and music groups to give their time and musical skills to bring fun, laughter and the spirit of Christmas to thousands of passengers flowing through the Airport over this busy period
This also helps to raise awareness of and much needed funds for our current Airport Charity partners – Tokko Youth Hub and National Literacy Trust
We know that some of you already have a time and date earmarked for December 2025 and we are happy to take further bookings as soon as you have dates in mind
We wanted to send a message now to remind you of this year’s programme in case you will be planning your Autumn timetable during the summer break
We will send the full invitation in September, with the usual request for all the information we will need to help the programme run smoothly (pupil numbers, transport requirements etc)
Dates : Monday 1st December – Friday 19th December (with rest days on the Sundays)
If you want to enquire about provisional dates just drop us a line at chaplaincy.events@ltn.aero (copied to liz.hughes@ltn.aero)
Timings can be flexible but groups normally perform for about 2 hours (usually sometime between 09:00 – 12:00 and 13:00 – 15:30) with a break for refreshments
Adult groups will be provided with basic teas and coffees from one of our onsite Cafes
We ask that school age pupils bring their own drinks and snacks (to avoid any allergy risks)
We try to ensure a gap of an hour in between each group for setting up and clearing away
We will advise you at the time of booking if your requested slot is available
If you need answers to any immediate questions, please don’t hesitate to ring me on 07710 932198
Travel arrangements: last year Arriva buses were very generous again in providing transport for a number of the school groups (only within Luton, during school hours) and I will be contacting them again to see if they can offer us help this year
We have some limited access to funds for coaches for schools outside Luton on a first come first served basis – but we would appreciate it if you could explore other funding if possible
We would be more than happy to assist you in negotiations with coach companies in your local area to provide discounted or free transport
Once again we will be in touch with Thameslink and DART to provide transport for groups near to stations on the Bedford to St Pancras line
Parking at the Terminal is obviously limited, but we will secure some free parking for members of your group, but we would appreciate as much car sharing as possible.
Group size: I am afraid that we need to restrict the size of each group to a maximum of 35 performers, for Health & Safety and logistical reasons
