Beans on Board – the vision
Growing our Team
Growing our Team
In 2020 we launched Flourish, our creative therapeutic recovery project. Flourish now delivers sessions four days a week, from free art through to cookery and Barista training.
Flourish has a core group of women regularly attending, whose recovery journey is remarkable; from initially rushing in and out of our drop-in, they have been supported into
safe accommodation and addiction recovery. Now they are equipped to dream of and plan for a life beyond trafficking and exploitation. To see survivors truly walk free from sex trafficking, we need to support them to leave Flourish behind and move on to fulfil their potential in the community. Our mobile coffee van, run by baristas trained through Azalea’s Flourish project, will offer survivors a chance to move forward in recovery whilst giving back to the community, with all profits funding further frontline work. Finding and retaining work is challenging for survivors; they have complex needs. However, we have an answer: a mobile coffee van, managed by Azalea staff to provide full support, but run bysurvivors, initially as volunteers and when appropriate, as employees. With your help, we can transform lives, one coffee at a time.
