Dear friends,

We are delighted to invite you to join us at the inaugural lecture of our Chancellor, Sarfraz Manzoor, taking place on Thursday, 16 May 2024 – ‘My Luton Story: How I came, why I Left and Why I’m (sort of) Back’.

This lecture holds particular significance as it marks 50 years since Sarfraz first arrived in Luton’s Bury Park from Pakistan. Now, half a century later, he will deliver his first lecture since he was appointed Chancellor last summer.

At the lecture, which will be held at our Luton campus and is open to the public, staff, and students, Sarfraz will talk about his life growing up in the town, illustrated by photos of him and the town.

He will share his bitter-sweet recollections of growing up in the town in the 1980s and detail why he’s back and championing Luton.

Please book your place:

Attendance is free and open to all. Registration is from 5.30 pm, with the lecture starting at 6pm.

Please join us at this very special lecture.

Best wishes,

The Events Team
