27th January 2026

Dear Friends

In 2026 we plan to have more CTL events. We are pleased to join with Engage Worship and the Salvation Army bi-monthly for an evening of Praise and Worship. Prayer for Luton is to be re-launched. Two new groups have been started – A youth group in Runfold and Together 20’s, for twenty somethings and by twenty somethings. And our big event in Wardown Park in June is coming together nicely. Please see the attached letter if you would like to be involved as we would like to see many churches and organisations there.

in 2025 there were two leaders Breakfast meetings which were an inspiration and chance to get to know other leaders better. We invite you to join us on 9th May (TBC) for our AGM/Breakfast when you can hear more about these activities. Please book the date; details will follow nearer the time.

We welcome you now to renew (or start) your membership with us for 2026 and help us work for you, our members, with each other, local charities, the council and others. We do not wish to increase our membership fees, so please join if you can, and if not, we’d like to know why and see if we can help.

The renewal form is available on the website and in the attachment here. Please complete and return to me and ideally pay by BACs to save us bank charges, although a cheque payable to Churches Together in Luton is fine if not.

So for another year, we wish God’s blessings on you and your work.

We are delighted to announce a Churches Together in Luton Event, taking place on:

Saturday, 27 June 2026 at Wardown Park, Luton

This event will be an opportunity for churches across Luton to come together in worship, fellowship, and shared mission. The day will feature music, praise, and worship in the open air, and we warmly invite every church to participate.

Churches are invited to set up a pitch to network and showcase the wonderful community services they offer, including outreach programmes, support ministries, prayer spaces, youth work, and more. This will be a chance to raise awareness, connect with the community, and celebrate the impact of the Church in our town.

While future years may include participation from wider regions, the 2026 event will be primarily hosted by and for churches in Luton and neighbouring areas. We do, however, hope to promote the event more widely through other websites and potentially through national Christian radio.

To make this a truly memorable and effective gathering, we are seeking pitch applications as well as volunteers for a number of key areas:

Volunteer Roles Needed

  1. Project Leads / Event Coordination Support
  2. Sound and Technical Engineers, Musicians, Worship Leaders, Choir Leaders, Singers and other Christian artists e.g., prophetic drawers and painters, poetry, flag bearers, etc
  3. Individuals with experience in funding applications and a small finance/admin team
  4. Individuals with promotions, advertising experience, including Social media
  5. Graphic artists

We kindly ask churches to submit names, expressions of interest, or pitch applications to:

sue.penn59@gmail.com
—or—
to your respective church office, for forwarding to CTL.

We look forward to working together as we plan this significant moment of unity, praise, and community witness for 2026. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to serving Christ and our wider community.
